This is composed of 1/3 peat moss (the light brown stuff), 1/3 vermiculite (the kitty litter looking stuff), and 1/3 compost (the dark stuff). Supposedly the peat moss and vermiculite provide perfect moisture and drainage, and the compost provides the nutrients.
We found peat moss and compost easily at Home Depot but had to go to Calloway's Nursery for vermiculite.
We mixed it all up and even though compost can be a little stinky, the end result is a beautiful yummy good-smelling dirt that I just loved running my hands through. I like dirt!!!!
