So my sister and I are doing our first-ever triathlon this coming Sunday and I am ner-VOUS! We have both been training really hard (well, at least I was until a sinus infection knocked me out for a few days last week). It's the Iron Girl Texas and it's actually just a sprint tri: 500 meter swim, 12 miles on the bike, and a 5k run. She and I both have chronic joint problems that will prevent us from actually RUNNING the run part, we'll speed-walk it instead. Here is my goal (hopefully I am overinflating what I'll actually be able to accomplish)
Swim--25 minutes or less
Transition--5 minutes or less
Bike---60 minutes or less
Transition --5 minutes or less
Run/Walk--45 minutes or less
Total: 2 hrs 20 minutes or less
I've been averaging about a 17 minute swim in the pool, but this will be really different. For one thing, there will be hundreds of other swimmers. For another, it's in a lake...I HATE water I can't see through, that might have things in it. I'm thinking I might actually have a better swim time than usual because I'm going to want to get the heck out of that nasty water!

That's awesome!!! How'd y'all train??? (yes I've kept the Texas here in Italy lol)
Can't wait to hear how y'all did!!!! Good luck!
I'm nervous, but I'm SO PUMPED. This is going to be absolutely awesome, I think. And I can't wait to show off that medal!!
I love that you are doing book reviews!!! Regarding, the pictures, I think you can add the element of a slide show or you can simply put a picture in as your post.
Thanks Ang for the support! Training=lots of swimming, biking, and not-running. Pretty much every day, except I usually take Mondays off. I will definitely post a recap after the race!
